SaddleBrooke Ranch Women’s Golf Association (SBRWGA) “Make An Impact Charity Event” gives thanks and praises to our Ranch golfers who embraced the spirit of giving back to our local community, raising over $20,000 for IMPACT of Southern Arizona: To Improve Lives and Inspire Futures In Our Community (impactsoaz.org). This year’s event was held on April 28 with perfect weather and absolute ideal course conditions (thanks to our Pro Shop and golf maintenance crew). In 2024, our league day women saw an opportunity for an annual charity event (raising $9,000 in 2024 and $19,000 in 2025). Our third event was so popular that the registration sold out in one day. The field of 132 golfers: ladies, mens, and mixed teams began with a shotgun start, playing a net 4-person scramble. Here are exciting happenings during the round.
Hole-in-One was played on #14, sponsored by Pacific Ceramics, Inc., Dennis Fleming and Arlene and Matt Fleming. A potential cash prize of $5,000 went unclaimed; though Fran Harrington hit the stick and landed just an inch away.
Tim Schaal and Tom Lamb ran the “Make an Impact…Hit the Mark” on hole #5. Golfers could bet $5 or $10 and double their bet if their tee shot landed within the 15–foot circle of the hole. Based on raising $580 on this fun game, our players may need work on their par 3 short game from the tee.
What’s a golf event without tiki bars on the course? Monica Bartko/Diane Couglin on hole #5 and Arlene Fleming/Jackie Elphic on hole #14 offered snacks and “shots.” No need for a birdie to get a shot.

Lunch after the event was served in the Sol Ballroom by our fabulous Ranch House Grill crew. Feeding 132 hungry players quickly is no easy task. Thanks for their impact on this great event. After the luncheon, we moved into the raffle and silent auction.
Thanks to the generous donations made by our golf friends. Our 50/50 raffle was a hit with 37 items. Donations included gift cards, golf outings at numerous courses in the Southern Arizona region, golf lessons, gift baskets, beauty treatments, restaurants, fitness sessions, jewelry, wine, handmade quilt, and maintenance services. The 50/50 winner was Toni Graves.
Silent auction items included: 1 week luxury rental home in Destin Florida, a chef prepared dinner for 8 with wine pairings, a foursome at Arizona National Golf, and a foursome at Skyline Country Club.
