Travel Talk Tuesday Is Thriving

Our Travel Talk Tuesday (TTT) event is held on the last Tuesday of each month, except during the summer and holiday months. After a summer hiatus, Travel Talk Tuesday returned with great interest from Ranch residents.

On Aug. 27, Ranch residents Steve Weiss and Ben Eisenstein made a presentation on their recent trips to Cuba. Steve and his wife, Sherry, and Ben and his wife, Nancy, separately visited this island nation only 90 miles south of Key West, Fla., (less than the distance between Tucson and Phoenix). We learned about the history of Cuba and the Cuban people, its vibrant culture, stunning cities, heavenly beaches, beautiful parks, and plenty of reasons to visit. A crowd of over 50 were in attendance to enjoy their presentation.

On Sept. 24, Donald Mamula shared with us “Tips, Tricks & Tools for Better Airline Travel & How to Stretch Your Travel Dollars.” His presentation was extremely well attended by an enthusiastic audience who learned about navigating airline travel to stretch their travel dollars to their best advantage.

Join us on Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. in the La Mesa Room when Doug Sedam and his wife Melanie, who relocated to SaddleBrooke Ranch five years ago, will present “The Ultimate Driving Tour in the Alps.” They will happily take us on their journey starting in Milan, Italy, and driving through Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, and Germany. We’ll learn about the nuts and bolts of driving in Europe and whether that’s right for you. They’ll take us to charming towns and lakes, and on epic hikes through magnificent mountain ranges. And, oh yes, wineries and restaurants. Be prepared for a dream travel extravaganza.

On Jan. 28, 2025, Frank Morris will present the SBR National Parks Club trip to Canyon de Chelly National Monument, Canyonlands, Arches, and scenic Monument Valley. A luxury motor coach (52 person capacity with restroom) was provided for the group’s comfort during travel. A tour director accompanied the group providing great information on destinations and helped monitor logistics. This presentation will be of great interest, especially for those of us who have never traveled to some of our nation’s great parks.

We look forward to you joining us for future travel presentations. If you would like to be a presenter and/or help us coordinate Travel Talk Tuesday, please contact Wonona Davis at [email protected].
