How can you get started in pursuing your artistic talents with pottery hand-building? First, take the two intro classes. To enroll, drop by the studio during studio hours and provide your contact info on the sign-up sheet. The cost is $40 for the two sessions. During the first session, you actually build a pottery piece with the class facilitator. The second session covers various glazing techniques, allowing you to prepare your creation for firing. It’s yours to keep, whether you join or not.
What happens after taking these two classes? You can join the club for a $25 annual membership, which is good through calendar year 2022. This is 50% off the normal annual membership.
What happens when you join the Mudslingers? Your membership includes clay and glaze firing. You can submit 50 pottery pieces per year at no charge. You have access to pottery supplies such as stamps, templates, and tools. During studio hours, mentors with extensive experience are available for questions and assistance. Additional classes (such as wheel) are offered throughout the year (some at an additional fee).
Studio hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (check the calendar at www.mudders.zannsgarden.com).
The next introductory class is Thursday, March 10, at noon. Glazing (the second session) will be held two weeks later.
Stop by the Mudslingers booth at the SBR Club Expo on March 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Ranch House Sol Ballroom.
