The Tech Club Electronics Recycling Event helps residents responsibly recycle old electronics.
Jeff Kaczmarek
Your SaddleBrooke Ranch (SBR) Technology Club concluded a successful first quarter of 2026 with two sold–out events that were open to all members of the Ranch whether a Tech Club member or not.
On April 6 we had another of our twice–a–year Electronics Recycling Events. Folks brought in used PCs, laptops, phones, printers, fax machines, cables, batteries, and even a microwave oven and electric guitar! All are headed to responsible recycling by our friends at the Keeper of the Grumper. We plan to have our fall recycling event in either October or November, so watch for dates in the Ranch Reminder.
On April 7 we heard a very informative presentation on “Tech & Estate Planning.” Our presenter was Jordan Young, an Elder Law attorney with the firm of Fleming & Curti (elder-law.com). The full house of more than 40 attendees heard some great advice on how to ensure that your trust and other estate documents take into account the ever changing field of digital assets, social media, and online utilization. There were many questions by audience members and the Tech Club is considering asking Jordan back for another presentation.
During the first three months of the year we’ve had presentations and classes on a variety of topics including:
* Current trends in artificial intelligence
* Creating a photobook using Shutterfly
* Our daily one-on-one personal assistance in the Tech Room
* Our twice a month (second and fourth Thursdays) morning Open Lab Days
Look for upcoming Tech Club events on our website (sbrtechnology.club), in the Ranch Reminder, on Nextdoor, on the SBR Facebook page, and in the weekly Community Calendar.
