The SaddleBrooke Ranch Women’s Golf Association hosted its fourth annual Sadie Hawkins Golf Tournament on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, with 62 golfers participating.
Sadie Hawkins Day is an American folk event and pseudo-holiday originated by Al Capp’s classic hillbilly comic strip Li’l Abner (1934–1978). This inspired real-world Sadie Hawkins events, the premise of which is that females ask males for a date or dancing. At SaddleBrooke Ranch the Sadie Hawkins Tournament format was a two-person best ball. The ladies invited a male resident (not their spouse) of the Ranch with a USGA handicap to participate as their partner.
Following the event golfers gathered for a luncheon, presentation of awards and door prizes.
