Two events coming up for the National Parks Club.
* Tuesday, Nov. 28: Wine and Cheese Holiday Party in the La Mesa Room at La Hacienda Club.
* Saturday, Dec. 2: Day bus trip to Fiesta de Tumacacori at Tumacacori National Historic Park.
Our Nov. 28 Holiday Wine and Cheese will include a speaker who will describe the Colorado Plateau and share pictures of the national parks associated with that area. In keeping with the season’s spirit of giving, participants are asked to bring donations for the Tri-Community Food Bank in Mammoth. Their holiday needs include smaller-sized cooking oil, detergent (liquid or powder), toilet paper, peanut butter, and mac and cheese. No canned fruits or vegetables are needed at this time.
The Fiesta de Tumacacori recognizes and celebrates the many cultures that were historically and are presently associated with the Santa Cruz Valley. There will be traditional foods, handcrafted arts and crafts, folkloric groups, local bands from many musical and cultural traditions, mission tours, pinata breaking, and river walks. The Tumacacori Museum has many beautiful exhibits and wall murals telling the story of the area from prehistoric times until 1848 when the museum was abandoned. Since parking is extremely limited, our group will leave from the Ranch by bus for a fun-filled day! There is a waiting list for this event.
