October turned out to be an ideal month to resume putting activities on the SBR 18-hole green. After a very long hiatus due to COVID and the conditions on the course, the Ranchette Putters turned out in force to putt and socialize.

Enthusiastic ladies showed up and attended enough weekly sessions to qualify for the club’s monthly awards. Prizes are awarded to putters with the first-, second- and third-lowest gross average scores, ladies who sink six or more holes in one and the first-, second-, and third-lowest net scores.

Ranchette Putters is pleased to announce our October winners. Linda Sentivanac turned in the third lowest gross average of 36.333. Linda Nicholson and Norma Tanner tied for second place with gross averages of 36.250. The first place honors went to Evie Thompson with a top gross average score of 35.000.

Consistently being able to read the green and sink a ball with one stroke takes a lot of talent. Twelve putters achieved this honor in October: Evie Thompson (11); Linda Nicholson (10); Sandy Getter (9); Camille Esterman, Sheryl Ratliff and Norma Tanner (7); Andrea Cothran, Jacque Hendricks, Janice Hynes, Corky Mansmith, Gayle Richey, and Mary Jo Stastny (6).

The use of handicaps has allowed the club to recognize another tier of monthly winners. Third place went to Rita Teresi with a net average of 35.500. Second place was shared by Camille Esterman and Janice Hynes with net averages of 35.000. Sue Hynes had the best net average with 33.433.

Ranchette Putters congratulates our October winners and invites all female residents of SBR to join us for a fun weekly event. Check out our bulletin board by the pro shop for more information, or contact Corky Mansmith at [email protected].
