If you were disappointed that you could not take the new and different art class that was offered in August, now is your chance to take this Wine Glass Painting Class. Due to the instructor being sick, the class was previously canceled and has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m.

Think of the fun you will have while painting two tumblers or two wine glasses (which you will take home after the class) while enjoying the camaraderie of existing and new friends. All you have to do is bring your smile and libation of choice (and munchies, if you want). Do not worry, you will not be drinking out of the tumblers or wine glasses you are painting!

No previous experience is necessary. This is a great class to take if you have no art experience. It will be a fun evening filled with laughter.

We are pleased to introduce Christine Lytwynczuk to the SBR Art Club. She graduated cum laude from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in painting and has taken graduate classes in art teaching. She has more than 25 years of experience teaching. She now teaches both privately and at an art center.

Class description: Come have some fun painting on glass. Christine will provide detailed step-by-step instruction, teaching new brush strokes and techniques. The theme to be painted will be cherry blossoms. She uses special acrylic glass paint that will stay on your painted tumbler/wine glass permanently! It is even dishwasher safe.

Two glasses will be painted simultaneously, so you will leave with a pair. You have a choice of either two stemmed wine glasses or two non-stemmed tumbler glasses. So, if you do not want a wine glass, you can paint tumblers, which have beverage versatility. Please mark your choice of glass style on your check.

Date for class: Wednesday, Oct. 11

Time: 5 p.m. The class takes at least two hours but plan on three hours to make sure you complete your glasses.

Class fee: $45. Make out your check to SBR Art Club and deposit it in the lockbox outside the Art Room. Note on the check whether you want tumblers or wine glasses.

Class size: Minimum: 5, Maximum: 20

Payment deadline date: Wednesday, Oct. 4

Materials the instructor will provide: All materials—glasses, special acrylic paint, brushes, aprons, and instructions for painting and curing paint on glass at home.

Registration: Go to GroupWorks. Click on “Events.” Click on “I’m Going.” Confirmation is depositing your check in the lockbox outside the Art Room door. Please do not click “I’m Going” unless you intend to take the class.
